Coconut Shakerato Recipe

Using Vanilla Affogato Keurig K-Cup® Pods

This light, frothy drink is perfect for summer and inspired by two classic Italian treats: the Affogato, a shot of espresso poured over ice cream, and the Shakerato, a shaken, iced espresso beverage. While many of the ingredients can be changed based on flavor preferences, our favorite way is to use our Vanilla Affogato Keurig K-Cup® Pods, coconut milk, and a swirl of chocolate syrup. Shake it well with ice for a refreshing, barista-style drink in minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1oz/30ml Chocolate Syrup 
  • 4oz/120ml (or 1 Pod) Brewed Vanilla Affogato K-Cup® Pods
  • 2-3oz/60-90ml (or to taste) Coconut Milk
  • Ice

EQUIPMENT

  • Keurig Machine
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Glass

PROCEDURE

  1. Brew one Vanilla Affogato K-Cup® Pod on the strongest brew setting and smallest volume (ideally allow this to cool).
  2. Combine the chocolate syrup, coconut milk, and coffee in a shaker.
  3. Add ice so the shaker is 2/3 full.
  4. Place the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds (until your hands are freezing).
  5. Strain into your glass (add ice in as desired).
