Igor Macchia and Giovanni Grasso

You can find our coffee in these restaurants:

La Credenza (San Maurizio Canavese).

Igor Macchia and Giovanni Grasso’s restaurant La Credenza entices and enchants, thanks to the harmony of its spaces, the understated composure of its tables and its atmosphere which, poised between classic and contemporary, immediately reveals the truest and most intimate essence of their cuisine.

They are the leading figures of an entrepreneurial project in high-end dining which, from its beginnings in 1991 with the Michelin-starred restaurant La Credenza in San Maurizio Canavese, has grown throughout the years with the opening of Casa Format. This multipurpose structure, comprising both restaurant and hotel, is a genuine sanctuary of responsible, conscious and ‘sustainable’ hospitality, with a vegetable garden of 21,500 sq ft, on which the kitchen’s seasonal offerings are based.

The symbiosis between these two chefs is staggering, as they have been able to fuse their professional lives together in a harmony that allows the latter today to step into the shoes of the dining room head (always with a watchful eye on the dishes, naturally), while the other acts as commander-in-chief—or rather, first among equals—in the kitchen. This does not, however, prevent him from frequently and happily indulging his love of traveling to the Far East, teaching the Italian way of cooking and importing in return the marvels of the clash between styles and cultures—which obviously make their way onto the plates.

To talk about La Credenza is, undoubtedly, to talk about imagination. But there is also, constantly and unfailingly, a perfect balance among the dishes, as though they were the coming together of three sharp, fertile minds in close agreement with each other.

Since 2011, Giovanni Grasso and Igor Macchia have been Lavazza Brand Ambassadors. In 2013, the duo invented the recipe Rapissino for the Lavazza stand at the Host exhibition in Milan. In 2017, Igor was the guest of honor on MasterChef Denmark. In September 2017, Giovanni Grasso created a recipe based on Kafa coffee to join Lavazza in celebrating the 70th anniversary of Ferrari.

La Credenza

La Credenza entices and enchants, thanks to the harmony of its spaces, the understated composure of its tables and its atmosphere that, poised between classic and contemporary, immediately reveals the truest and most intimate essence of its cuisine: enter a dreamworld, thanks to the magic of the dishes and the social lubricant of the wine, see the dedication of the producers, smell the scent of their land through the passing of the seasons.

Casa Format

The cuisine of Casa Format is an adventure in rediscovering tradition and sharing through the responsible selection of raw materials. Those who work there like to define themselves as craftspeople of taste, because what you find on the plate is the fruit of the dedicated work of hands and mind.
