In collaboration with Verdad y Vida.
San Lucas Chiacal in Guatemala is a small town (home to 130 families) where women primarily work in agricultural activities and carpentry. The majority of the inhabitants belong to the Maya Pop’omchì ethnic group which, in the past, has been subject to internal conflict, victimization, and land destruction. Now working on the artisan cultivation of high-quality coffee, the community needs technical support, training and help with proper product marketing.
In collaboration with the Verdad y Vida association, the Lavazza Foundation supports a group of 20 Maya Pop’omchì women in their ambitious project to produce and market the coffee grown in their community, San Lucas Chiacal.
