INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
Pursuant to art. 13 of Italian Leg. Decree no. 196 of June 30, 2003 ("Code regarding the protection of personal data" or “Privacy Code”), LUIGI LAVAZZA S.p.A. informs you that the personal data you provide will be processed in accordance with the above regulations and according to the criteria set forth below.
1) DATA CONTROLLER
The Data Controller for personal data processing is LUIGI LAVAZZA S.p.A. (hereinafter “Lavazza”) with registered office in Turin – Via Bologna, 32, represented by the appointed legal representative.
2) REQUIRED AND OPTIONAL DATA
The provision of personal data is optional, but it may be necessary for the completion of some of the purposes indicated (e.g. the activation of contractual and commercial relations; the management of competitions and reward operations; the sending of newsletters, etc.), in which case the non-conferral of compulsory data will make such activity impossible. The obligatory or optional nature of the conferral is always indicated by the use of symbols (e.g. “*”) placed to the side of the information whose conferment is compulsory to pursue the respective purpose.
3) PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION
The personal data you provide will be collected, processed and retained only for as long as it is necessary and for the following purposes:
- registration(*) or access to the services offered by the Website (e.g. our newsletter, sharing of your appreciation with your friends who subscribe to the website and through your accounts with the main social networks, etc.) and the subscription to the “community” of users promoted on the Website;
(*) REGISTRATION TO THE SITE: Registration to the Site via the creation of an account or by using an existing social network account allows you to use the Site as a “Registered user”; this simplifies the purchase process and you will only have to re-enter your personal data required to complete an order for some purchases, not all of them.
However, we inform you that you can also purchase products through the Site without registering, simply by entering personal data for the sole purpose of completing the order. In this case, the data you provide will be used by Luigi Lavazza S.p.A., as the data controller, only in order to complete the purchase order. The provision of this data is in fact optional but necessary for the management of the order and for related administrative-accounting purposes. You may also be contacted for communications concerning the purchase. Your data will not be released to third parties, other than to couriers used by Lavazza to deliver the purchased products.
- activation and management of purchase orders, contractual and commercial relations and related activities (in compliance with the Terms of Sale);
- management of payments and deliveries of products purchased through the Site (in compliance with the Terms of Sale);
- management of competitions and prizes;
- management of technical requests relating to your purchases, such as information on the progress of your orders, and any other general requests concerning the goods, the Site and services accessed through it;
- prior consent, sending of brochures and promotional and advertising material relating to products marketed by the Lavazza Group, the sending of newsletters and other advertising initiatives and commercial communications, including via the email address or cell phone number provided.
- any other purpose to which the data subject has given his/her express consent.
4) DATA PROCESSING AND RETENTION
The data will be processed with the tools and methods deemed appropriate to protect the security and confidentiality of personal data. It may be done either manually or through the use of electronic or otherwise automated tools, and it will include all operations required by law and those necessary for the processing in question, including disclosure to data subjects as referred to in paragraph 5 below.
Some of the data may be processed via electronic networks, both with regard to local protected networks and with regard to the Internet network. With reference to the latter, the processing carried out will be subject to the security standards offered by the network.
The data in question will be processed by Lavazza employees and/or by employees of primary third-party companies appointed by Lavazza, who are authorized to process and retain the data, duly identified and instructed and made aware of the constraints set out in the Italian Privacy Law.
5) DISCLOSURE OF DATA
The personal data you provide will not be divulged or communicated to third parties, except for other companies that are part of the Lavazza Group, Italian and/or foreign, and primary third-party companies (business partners and suppliers) if and when legitimately instructed by Lavazza to carry out functional activities in order to achieve the objectives referred to in point 3 above. In any case, the data will be processed with the same security and confidentiality guarantees provided by Luigi Lavazza S.p.A.
6) BROWSING DATA AND COOKIES
The systems and computer programs used for the operation of the Site collect some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols (e.g. IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the website, the URI – Uniform Resource Identifier – addresses of the requested resources, time of the request, method used to submit the request to the server, size of file obtained in response, numeric code for Server response status – operation completed, error, etc. – and other parameters related to the user's operating system and computing environment). Although this information is not collected for the specific purpose of identifying a user, by its nature and through elaborations and associations with data held by third parties, it could allow users to be identified.
These data are used for the sole purpose of obtaining statistical information, not linked to any user identification data, concerning the use of the website and to check its correct functioning, and are deleted immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in case of hypothetical computing crimes against the Site.
7) DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS
In relation to the processing of personal data, you can exercise the rights referred to in Article 7 of the Privacy Code, the text of which is shown in full below.

1. The data subject has the right to know whether or not personal data about him/her is being held, even if not yet registered, and to receive a copy of this information in an intelligible format.
