Salon du Chocolat

Lavazza at the Salon du Chocolat 2017

Lavazza and Eraclea, two symbols of Made in Italy, quality for coffee and hot chocolate respectively, have made their triumphant return to Milan’s Salon du Chocolat. The Salon, a unique opportunity to bring together maîtres chocolatiers and the crème de la crème of the industry for an occasion packed with events, shows and culture, originated in Paris in 1994 with the aim of allowing the public to discover chocolate in all its forms. Today, it involves 30 cities on four different continents and is considered the world's most important celebration of the “Food of the Gods”. Since 2016, it has also been held in Milan.

Plenty of tastings and good cheer

Lavazza, the event’s main sponsor for the third year running, presented the exquisite products it has designed exclusively for food service. The ¡Tierra! blend, sourced from certified Rainforest Alliance farms, stole the show. This collection of blends, artfully crafted by Lavazza, offers the perfect synthesis of flavor from the territory of origin. The Sensory Bar hosted a tasting of the special edition of Kafa, a single-origin 100% Arabica of extremely high quality, paired with rum, aromatized wines and gran cru chocolate. The famous pastry chef and Lavazza brand ambassador Loretta Fanella gave a cookery show in which she demonstrated an almond and banana confection with Lavazza’s Kafa Coffee, and a chocolate-coffee pudding with an anise-flavored cookie and Lavazza’s ¡Tierra! Coffee. Dennis Zoppi, along with his close friend Luca Andrè of the Vegan Academy, instead prepared various cocktails based on Lavazza’s ¡Tierra! and Kafa coffees.
