Official Driver

Séverine has been the official driver for the Roland-Garros for three tournaments. Sitting in front of a double Espresso, she explains that her work allows her to meet new athletes, coaches and tournament officials every year.

It doesn’t matter if they are famous players or young ones playing for the first time, everyone is different. She says, “I adapt to the person I meet. It’s all about knowing how to listen, about understanding who wants to speak and who does not.”

Séverine’s is an important and all-encompassing task, during which anything can happen, such as finding herself singing along with a tennis player and his entourage during a journey to the hotel to which they had asked her to accompany them. “We didn’t want to stop, so we ended up driving around the square twice!”

For this year’s French Open, now at its 117th edition, she has also been involved in transporting the players, allowing her to live in a privileged position behind the scenes of the tournament, played on the world's best-known red clay court.
