Born in Holland in 1959, Olaf is one of the most innovative artists in the photography field. In 1988, he won the young European Photographers Award in Germany, in 1998 and 2001 he won the Silver Lion in Cannes for advertising campaigns for Diesel and Heineken. In September 2003, the Groninger Museum inaugurated a retrospective on the past 25 years of his career, with more than 200 photographs and numerous videos.
In 2010, Louis Vuitton commissioned from Olaf a series of portraits in collaboration with the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. He has published many books and won numerous international prizes. He recently received the Lucie Award for his work. He’s had many exhibitions all over the world. His works are part of the permanent collections of several Dutch museums.
